The Home Nations Inter-Club Championship was was founded by Nigel Dolton with sponsorship from SAAB and Nigel has been running the competition ever since as Tournament Director. Sadly Nigel died on the 19^th June 2008 following complications after heart surgery.  Nigel was a life long member of Burhill Golf Club, where his brother is Captain for the second time.  He has always enjoyed encouraging the young and passing on his love for the game and when diabetes made it impossible for him to continue his career in advertising, he seized on the opportunity to combine encouraging the young with golf.

He leaves a widow, Jutta, son, Timothy and daughter, Sally.  Donations in his name may be made to Diabetes UK.  The family retains a close interest in the competition and wish all competitors good luck in the competition.
